Frequently Asked Questions

Whether it is the first time or the last you are enrolling your child into a childcare program, Westside Early Childhood Centers wants to offer you convenient answers to questions you may have.  Our program has compiled a list of FAQ's to inform you about our program and procedures.

1. What is the difference between the Preschool programs?

  • Preschool - age 3 to 5 years old

    • 2 day per week minimum attendance​

    • Full day or preschool ony (8:30 AM - 11:30 AM)

  • Four Year Old Program
    • Must be 4 years of age by July 31st​
    • Must attend 5 days (M-F, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM)

2.  What items do I need to bring for my student?

  • Sunscreen, water bottle, blanket (napping) and complete change of clothes. Futher information can be gathered from your Site Director. 

3.  When are meals and snacks?

  • Breakfast - 8:00-8:30 AM

  • AM snack - 10:00 AM

  • Lunch - 11:30 AM or 12:15 PM (depending on classroom)

  • PM snack - 3:00 PM

  • Club 66 PM snack (K-6th) - 3:30 PM

4.  Can I bring a cold lunch?

  • Yes, however all contents must be peanut and tree nut free.

5.  Can my child have some hot lunch and some cold lunch?

  • Not at this time.  Unfortunately, we cannot serve components from both a hot and cold lunch.

6.  Is other outside food allowed?

  • We cannot allow other outside food unless your child qualifies for meal accommodations due to a food allergy or dietary restriction. (see Meal Modification form here)

7.  Can I drop my learner off at the door or from the parking lot?

  • For safety purposes, we require all children are escorted into the building classroom by an adult or authorized drop off/pickup person.

8.  Can I call to check on my child during the day?

  • Yes, WECC also has tools to check in to your child's classroom and activities with SeeSaw and DayCare Works.

9.  How can I be involved at the school?

  • We love to partner with families and parents in our program. Guest readers or classroom helpers are needed for various projects. We also have a Parent Advisory Committees and feel free to check with the classroom teacher for specific volunteer opportunities.

10.  Can I change my schedule?

  • Schedule changes are permitted with notice depending on availability, please see the office for schedule change requests. Days can be added if there is availability but not switched.

​11.  What does reserved care on the calendar mean?

  • Reserved care means that you must sign your child up to have care on the dates noted. If you do not need care on a reserved care date, you are not charged.

12.  What options do I have for payment?

  • Cash, check, Debit/Credit Card, DayCare Works Autopay

13.  When are payments due and how do I get a monthly statement?

  • Weekly.  Statements are viewable through our online parent portal through DayCare Works.

14.  How does Child Subsidy work?

  • Please contact the Billing Department at 402-408-8502

15.  I am divorced, can there be two separate accounts? Can my former spouse see my information on the website?

  • Accounts are per family and attached to the enrolled child(ren). Information can be seen by the user who logs into the parent portal.
